Autumn Culp is an electronic musician, sound designer, and video artist. She studied Technology in Music and Related Arts and Sociology at Oberlin College & Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio. Much of her work focuses thematically on what it means to live in a world of networks and the alienation that accelerating globalization and financialization generate. Her recent work uses digital synthesis and sampling, narrative-driven sound design, and digital video to address these themes. Sonically, her process seeks to combine electroacoustic, plunderphonics, and club music aesthetics with improvisational and fixed media grammars. She seeks to reframe the traditional mode of electroacoustic music away from the acousmatic, stressing a digital sonic materialism that understands auditory experience as a material reality, and music as an object within that reality. She performed at SEAMUS in 2021 as part of the Oberlin Synthesizer Ensemble.
